Old 'tulip' vase from the Vannes glassworks

Vintage vase in thick blown-moulded crystal in the so-called "tulip" shape: five undulating petals bloom in an open corolla from a stout body with a solid base, playing with light in a cascade of reflections and transparencies. The material, clear and flawless, reveals the perfect technical mastery of the glassworks. The very thick base gives the piece remarkable stability and presence. Founded in 1765 in Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Vannes-le-Châtel glassworks began its transition to crystal between 1962 and 1964, before joining the Daum group in 1980. These pieces, produced mainly in the 1970s, are now highly sought after by enthusiasts of vintage French crystal.
