Orange teardrop glass pendant lamp made by Holmegaard - Denmark 1960

Vintage Holmegaard Orange Teardrop Pendant Lamp – Danish Glass. A great-looking and rare teardrop pendant lamp by Holmegaard, Denmark, featuring an amazingly beautiful orange color and an elegant compact size. The lamp is made from cased, mouth-blown glass, with a white inner layer and orange and transparent glass on the outside. The combination creates a wonderful depth of color and a beautiful glow when illuminated. This example is in original condition and retains its original teak wood finial on top, adding a warm Scandinavian touch to the sculptural glass shade. The layered glass has a combined thickness of approximately 4 mm at the bottom rim and 3.5 mm at the upper rim. About Holmegaard. Founded in 1825, Holmegaard became Denmark's most important and renowned glassworks and played a major role in the development of Scandinavian modern glass design. The company is particularly famous for its collaboration with important Danish designers including Jacob E. Bang, Per Lütken and Michael Bang, whose work helped establish Holmegaard as an internationally recognized name in Danish glass design. There is only one small chip on the underside of the glass, visible in the photos. Otherwise, the glass is in excellent condition with a beautiful original gloss and no noticeable scratches. We could not detect any visible air bubbles in the glass. A wonderful opportunity to own a rare Danish Holmegaard pendant lamp with its original teak detail and exceptional orange glass.
