Empire period floor mirror, Milan, early 19th century. The mirror, entirely veneered in flame mahogany, features a finely chiselled bronze frame, gilded with both shiny and matte parts, surrounding the mercury mirror. The upper frame has bronze appliqués, with two very fine rosettes on the sides adorned with small chiselled oak leaves and a central anthemion motif. The structure is made of walnut. This quality of bronze in Milan during those years can only be found in the Manfredini workshop.
