This sumptuous two-body sideboard, designed by the prestigious maison diot, brilliantly embodies the refinement and elegance of the art nouveau style. A masterpiece of french cabinetmaking, it is distinguished by its sinuous lines and its naturalistic motifs sculpted with remarkable mastery, offering a poetic tribute to nature and exceptional craftsmanship. Entirely in solid walnut and burl veneer, this piece of furniture has a warm and deep patina that highlights the unique grain of the material. The upper part, decorated with glass display cases framed by delicate floral motifs, offers a perfect space to display precious pieces or art objects, while the rounded and sculpted pediment adds a touch of grandeur and softness to the whole. The lower part, with its finely crafted drawers and doors with sculpted details, offers generous and functional storage capacity. Each brass handle and fitting is meticulously designed, further enhancing the exclusivity of this period piece of furniture; the doors lock with a bronze key decorated with the letter d. The general condition is very good. There are of course some signs of wear and small repairs on the veneer, and traces of the passage of a few woodworms, but its presence remains unchanged and gains in authenticity and charm. It has been treated and protected with a wax to revive its shine. Of precious rarity and in very good condition for its age, this sideboard is a piece that tells a story, that of a time when each piece of furniture was designed as a work of art. Note, the glass doors are a little capricious and it takes a little help to lock them. Circa 1900. Dimensions: height: 226 cm. Width: 154 cm. Thickness: 53 cm. Weight: 104 kg.
