Set of 19th Century English Armchairs in Sheraton Style

This set of late 19th-century English armchairs is designed in the Sheraton style. The armchairs feature soft armrests, legs mounted on brass castors, and upholstery in various patterns. They have not undergone restoration. The Sheraton style, associated with the renowned English cabinetmaker Thomas Sheraton, emerged to simplify extravagant furniture design. This style flourished in England during the second half of the 18th century, characterized by its simplicity, subtle decorations, and streamlined construction. The design often includes slim, fluted legs, and materials such as mahogany, rosewood, and satinwood. Surfaces were commonly decorated with techniques such as marquetry and veneering.
