Restored 1960s Mid-Century Walnut Display Cabinet with Slatted Glass

We are incredibly proud to present a stunning vintage cabinet that masterfully bridges the gap between pre-war Art Deco luxury and the tapered, lightweight aesthetic of 1960s Mid-Century Modern design. DESIGN AND MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP The absolute highlight of the upper display section is its curved corners. Instead of using a single piece of bent glass, the transparent curves are constructed from multiple delicate, vertical glass slats. This highly complex artisanal technique beautifully refracts light and adds a distinct jewelry-like quality to the furniture. To enhance this spectacular effect, we have installed a brand-new, flawless mirror pane on the back wall of the display cabinet. This creates an incredible sense of depth and perfectly illuminates any glassware, ceramics, or books placed behind the sliding glass doors. The woodwork is equally astonishing. The front doors of the lower cabinet are covered in premium European walnut veneer, arranged in a perfectly symmetrical book-matched pattern. This creates a mesmerizing, flame-like natural image that serves as a stunning focal point. COMPACT FUNCTIONALITY Unlike massive, imposing buffets, this piece boasts incredibly elegant and practical proportions. At only 111 cm wide, it is highly adaptable for modern living spaces. It features a spacious two-door cabinet at the base. The asymmetrical top section offers a large glass display case on the left, alongside a drop-down bar cabinet and two charming small drawers on the right. RESTORATION AND FINISH The cabinet has undergone a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our specialized workshop. All degraded historical varnishes were meticulously stripped down to the bare wood. The surface was then finished with premium hard wax oil. This modern, high-end treatment protects the wood against moisture and daily use while providing a stunning, natural satin-matte touch that allows the depth of the walnut grain to truly shine without artificial gloss.
