Beautiful antique mahogany book mill, exceptionally beautiful quality book mill from the famous english 19th century furniture maker maple & co. With the characteristic cast iron base. Beautiful weathered appearance. Origin: england, ca. 1900. Dimensions: 49cm X 49cm X h.86cm. The maker maple & co was the most important manufacturer of quality furniture in the world towards the end of the victorian period (ca. 1880). The company furnished the winter palace of tsar nicholas, the hofburg palace in vienna, all the major english embassies around the world, countless country houses and large hotels. Everyone who was important towards the end of the 19th century had their furniture made by maple & co. The quality and craftsmanship of these pieces of furniture is exceptionally beautiful.
