Here is an authentic vintage String shelf system, one of the most iconic Scandinavian designs of the 20th century, designed by Swedish designers Kajsa and Nisse Strinning for String Design AB. Born from a competition to create a shelf that was both lightweight, portable, and easy to assemble, this system has become an essential reference in Scandinavian furniture over the decades. This piece consists of five teak veneer shelves, suspended between two slender black lacquered metal wire ladders, typical of the String structure. This contrast between the graphic lightness of the metal frame and the warmth of the wood gives the whole a visually striking balance, both airy and functional. Found wrapped in a newspaper dated 1962, this shelf would therefore date from that time, or perhaps a little earlier - a provenance that supports its authenticity. It is in remarkable condition: entirely original, with no restoration, it has survived over sixty years without losing its charm. Due to its versatility, it will find its place in a living room, an office, an entrance, or a bedroom, to display books, objects, and souvenirs with that extra character typical of collectible pieces. Features: Type: modular wall shelf, String system. Dimensions: L: 69; W: 21; H: 78. Materials: teak veneer, black lacquered metal frame. Condition: all original, no restoration, exceptional condition despite very slight signs of wear not immediately visible.
