Rare and iconic Pony chair, created in 1973 by Finnish designer Eero Aarnio. This piece of furniture, both playful and sophisticated, combines the functionalities of a lounge chair and a classic chair. It is covered in its original blue fabric and has an internal steel structure and resilient foam, giving it robustness and comfort. The fabric shows signs of wear, including discolouration and a few small repairs, which is normal for a vintage piece of nearly 50 years. Eero Aarnio, a pioneer of modern furniture design, is known for his innovative use of plastics, vibrant colours, and organic shapes. His creations, such as the Ball chair (1963) and the Bubble chair (1968), are exhibited in prestigious museums around the world, including MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
