Magnificent and imposing Bach table lamp by Frederico Correa and Alfonso Mila for Santa & Cole. Spanish, 1970s. A rare model produced by Santa & Cole. Chrome metal structure. Original lampshade, beige colour. Stamped. Two light points. Dimmer switch. Stamped. Beautiful dimensions: Height 68 cm. Diameter 48 cm. Base width 33 cm. Very stable, weight 7.3 kg. Mila: Both born in 1924 and classmates since the age of ten, Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá obtained their doctorate in architecture from the University of Barcelona. In 1953, they founded their own architecture agency, thus strengthening a friendly and professional relationship that made their names inseparable. They excelled as architects, interior designers, and industrial designers. They also made remarkable contributions to the teaching and dissemination of architectural creation, both in Barcelona and Spain, in the international debate on architecture and design. Rationality was their main characteristic, always with a focus on user satisfaction. "We work with the same priorities that we apply to our architectural projects: rationalisation." Their work is inspired by lessons on the Modern Movement taught by Josep Maria Jujol, Francesc Ràfols, and José Antonio Coderch, with whom they collaborated for several years as apprentices, and by the architecture of northern Italy.
