Very beautiful large pyrite stoneware jug from Puisaye, probably handcrafted in Cher or central France. An antique from the late 19th century. Tall and slightly curved shape with a large handle. Beautifully nuanced ash glaze, brown on one side and in ochre, yellow, and beige tones on the other. Light grey interior dotted with numerous pyrites, with a lovely rustic and mineral appearance. 23cm high, approximately 15cm maximum diameter and 18cm maximum depth including the handle. Overall good condition. Cannot hold water. There is a hairline crack at the neck, another at the bottom forming several branches, a chip at the base, and two small knocks on the yellow side of the glaze, somewhat visible. Weighs approximately 1-2kg.
