Sculpture of a horseman in reconstituted stone, 1960s, Height: 23 cm. Length: 22 cm. Width: 9 cm. Modernist sculpture representing a horseman, made of reconstituted stone or moulded and patinated cement. Its deliberately streamlined and archaic form fits within the post-war modernist sculpture movement, characterised by a return to primitive and synthetic shapes. It particularly evokes the explorations of Marino Marini around the equestrian figure. The back is flat, so the sculpture can be placed against a wall. Very good overall condition, with some minimal signs of age and manufacturing. A slight dark patina also darkens the object in places.
