Pair of wrought iron candlesticks by Charles Piguet 1940s. France. A silversmith active in Geneva in the 20th century (circa 1900–1950), Charles Piguet created table and ornamental pieces in silver or silver-plated metal: candlesticks, candelabra, bowls, and services. His style ranges from classical/neoclassical to a sober Art Deco, with very careful proportions. A master’s mark “C P” (variant depending on the period) is found alongside the Swiss hallmark for quality: “grouse” before 1934, Saint Bernard head after 1934. The signed candlesticks are distinguished by precise turning, sharp fluting, and well-fitted drip trays.
