Sculptural lounge chair in solid oak, Europe, 1940s. Beautiful large lounge chair made of solid oak with a very pronounced sculptural design. This mid-century chair, with its Art Deco charm, is one of the best designs we have ever seen. It appears robust and solid, yet is simultaneously sinuous and sculptural due to the fluid sculpted lines of the oak frame. A simple but very interesting design. The cushions and backrest are covered in a strongly marked Art Deco fabric with oriental accents. The pointed cushions are very comfortable and pleasant, and the fabric used is of high quality. However, the cushions can be reupholstered upon request to give the chair a different appearance.
