Wooden sideboard by Frantisek Mezulanik for Up Zavody 60

Superb practical mid-century storage unit, made by the Czech manufacturer Up Zavody and designed by Frantisek Mezulanik. The Czech Republic was a major producer of high-quality mid-century furniture, following the wave of modernism initiated by the Bauhaus school. The left side of the unit features two small drawers (internal dimensions L33 X L38 X H8) above which is a good-sized unit with four shelves (total internal dimensions L40 X L35 X H75, with shelves spaced 18 cm apart). The main unit has a large glazed section with original sliding glass doors that open to reveal three shelves (L32 X L82, all spaced 24 cm apart). The bottom shelf measures L32 X L82 X H24. The entire unit is beautifully crafted from a mix of contrasting woods. The cabinet rests on an original black-painted beech base. The unit is prepared and ready to be installed.
