Pair of bedside tables/side tables by Guillerme and Chambron and ceramics by Danikowski 1950s

Pair of bedside tables/side tables by Guillerme and Chambron and ceramics by Danikowski, 1950s. France, in oak and ceramic. Here is a pair of side tables or bedside tables signed by Guillerme and Chambron for Votre Maison, produced in the 1950s. Made of blond solid oak, they are distinguished by their tops inlaid with polychrome ceramic tiles signed by Boleslaw Danikowski, a Polish ceramic artist based in France and a regular collaborator of the duo. The tables feature the typical design of Guillerme and Chambron: a sturdy structure in light oak with crossed arch legs; a rectangular top enlivened by colourful glazed earthenware, blending shades of blue, orange, and green; balanced proportions and warm finishes that harmonise craftsmanship and modernity. Jacques Chambron and Robert Guillerme, founders of the "Votre Maison" movement in Lille after the Second World War, left a mark on French furniture with a recognisable style: bold lines, sculpted solid oak, functional details, and decorative accents drawn from craftsmanship. Their collaboration with Danikowski, a master of glazed ceramics, adds an artistic touch to their creations, where each tile becomes a work of art in its own right.
