Nursing chair, Normandy. A low chair with a high ladder back and a seat in woven reed. Vernacular, typical rural carpentry. The low seat height places the seat close to the ground, where in rural households the cradle stood. The letter F is marked in two of the slats. The seat is used but still sturdy, the weaving is intact across the full width.
