Old painting, orientalist landscape, signed marcel canet (1875- 1959)

Very beautiful painting, oil on panel in a gilded wooden frame decorated with shells in the corners, representing at the entrance of a city or a fort, probably in algeria, a gathering of villagers and travelers including a man on a donkey. It is signed lower left marcel canet born march 15, 1875 in paris and died in 1958. Painter of genre and landscapes, he exhibited in paris at the salon des artistes between 1903 and 1935.il is also known for having exhibited at the salons d'automne and the salons des orientalistes. Beautiful palette of pastel colors, it is appreciated with a little hindsight to accentuate the depth of the decor and appreciate the technique of the painter. Condition: very nice condition, no restoration, just the presence of two small scratches and a small jump of color of material that brings out a small white dot.
