Vintage modernist and minimalist wardrobe by André Sornay. The wardrobe rests on 4 wheels, with a mahogany frame, two sliding doors, original paint (with some missing areas on the front), a hanging space on the right side, and shelves on the left side. The handle on the right door has small wood chips. There is a slight misalignment of the right door when closing (visible in the photo). Wear and patina are consistent with age and use. André Sornay, a French designer and decorator (1902-2000). In the 1950s, he developed a quick assembly system for furniture and filed patents, including the "Sornay dowel" in 1953, which proved to be revolutionary. This process laid the foundation for the so-called "flat-pack" furniture system used today. The assembly of this piece is limited to the joining of a rear frame equipped with threaded inserts designed to receive the dowels and a front frame. The nuts are left visible on the front.
