Rare Freddotherm ice bucket in the shape of an apple, designed by Hans Turnwald in Switzerland in the 1970s. An immediately recognisable silhouette, typical of 1970s bar design, here enhanced by a spectacular silver and tortoiseshell finish. The lid takes the shape of the fruit and adds to the overall sculptural dimension characteristic of the model. Made from moulded plastic with an insulating inner lining, this bucket perfectly illustrates the Hollywood Regency taste for bar accessories that are both functional, sculptural, and decidedly glamorous. The Freddotherm / Swiss Patent International marking allows for the identification and authentication of the model. A particularly decorative piece, equally appealing in a seventies bar or repurposed as a sculptural object in an interior with Hollywood Regency accents.
