Vase by Charles Catteau for Scailmont

Art deco vase in pressed glass molded rosé with the floral motif of the glassware "scailmont" signed "ch catteau" and marked "made in belgium scailmont" at the heel. Created in 1901 in the province of Hainaut in Manage (Belgium), this glassworks opens a department of decorative glasses under the responsibility of henry heemskerk painter decorator in the workshop directed by charles catteau. Many vases according to the models designed by this decorator are manufactured from 1925 under the direction of charles catteau. He published his own models from 1927. Charles crépin nicolas catteau (1880-1966) is a Franco-Belgian ceramist internationally recognized and awarded at the exhibition of decorative arts of 1925. In good condition, no cracks or shine.
