handcrafted Transylvania rug

Magnificent hand-woven rug (loom), in wool prepared entirely at home. Origin: transylvania (romania), 60s - 70s, last century. Dimensions: 149cm/225cm. Easily washable in the washing machine, at 20°c, "delicate" or "hand" program. It does not fade. In romania it is used as a bed cover, sofa throw, or rug. A few decades ago, we hung this type of rug on the wall, in the main room of the house. (short story: we used sheep's wool, and only from the herd belonging to the family. Once the wool threads were obtained, the material was dyed with natural products. Everything was homemade. Weaving followed - on the loom and one following a certain model. As a general rule, the artisanal production of a carpet lasted almost 6 months).
