Vintage extendable dining table, round with butterfly leaf, in modern Scandinavian style, dating from the 1960s/1970s. This beautiful table is made of wood, featuring a two-tone teak veneer, square legs, and a 49.5 cm butterfly extension. It transitions from a round shape of 116 cm (not extended) to an oval shape of 165.5 cm, comfortably accommodating 4 to 6 people (or more). See photos for different configurations. The round structure, with its distinctive shape, is made of cast aluminium (see photos). To open and extend the table, simply unlock the two hooks under the top, slide out the butterfly extension, and unfold it slowly, then gently guide each end towards the extension until it is securely in place. The table is in good original condition, with some marks and signs of normal wear for its age, as well as a natural patina on the legs and top. Extension, apron (under the frame), and edge. (See close-up photos where a 1-cent coin is placed for perspective.) Some veneer repairs are visible on the apron/under the frame, near the legs and on a tiny lower section (see photos). A small mark of use is present on the edge of the top (see photo). The legs of this table are removable if you need to move it from one room to another. The label under the top, indicating the supplier "Van Pelt, " the reference, model number, and wood type, is present (see photo). Additional dimensions: Fully open: Width: 165.5 cm / Closed: 116 cm. Extension: 49.5 cm. All photos were taken in natural outdoor light; colours may therefore vary depending on brightness, viewing angles, and perspective.
