Stoneware pitcher signed Marc Drillon, Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye

Stoneware jug signed MD for Marc Drillon, made in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye. This piece is appealing due to its simple and balanced silhouette, enhanced by a wide and sculptural handle that gives it a lot of character. The glaze, in deep anthracite to black tones reminiscent of those by Georges Jouve, has a beautiful satin finish and fine firing nuances that enliven the surface. The decoration remains deliberately minimalist, allowing the form and material to take centre stage. A ceramic piece with a strong presence, both authentic and highly decorative. Note: there are two surface cracks.
