Basket chandelier with crystal and gilded bronze pendants - Louis XV / Marie-Thérèse style - 8 lights - H 90 cm X D 50 cm. Superb basket chandelier known as "balloon" or "cage": Gilded bronze frame with 2 openwork crowns decorated with foliage and palmettes. Central shaft with a string of crystal balls and a crown of rectangular plates with points. Lower skirt in 2 tiers of pendants: 1st row: rectangular plates with teeth, faceted balls. 2nd row: arrows / daggers with 2 perforations, drops and rosettes. Hanging faceted ball in the centre, lamp base with star-shaped pendants. 8 lights on 2 levels. Fine work from the late 19th - early 20th century, circa 1900, in the style of Baccarat / Baguès. Clear crystal, gilded bronze. Functional electrification with 8 lights.
