Albarello, the official word for antique apothecary pots of this shape that trace their origins back to the 17th century. This example is made in portugal, in the region of coimbra, more precisely the village of soure. This region experienced a historical epic of earthenware, but this found a decline from the 16th/17th century. Afterwards, the earthenware factories were taken over and made new pieces based on old models: modern (vintage) reproductions of antique pieces. Here is a vintage reproduction of very good quality in impeccable condition. To be used as a decorative piece, vase or pot. H 19.5cm, d10.5cm, dcol: 7cm, dpied 7.5cm weight: 570g.
