Antique amber glass pitcher engraved with a hunting scene decoration – circa 1

Superb antique hand-blown amber glass pitcher, decorated with a fine and detailed engraving all around the rim. The decoration depicts a hunting scene: Hunters on horseback, Dogs running through the forest, A fleeing stag, Trees and foliage etched with acid. This type of engraving is characteristic of Central European/Bohemian/German productions from the 1930s to 1950s, highly prized for the fineness of the lines and the transparency of the colored glass. The amber glass gives it a lovely warm hue, and the pitcher's slender cylindrical shape, with its hot-applied handle, is reminiscent of the handcrafted glassware of the period. The slightly irregular base and the small internal bubbles indicate mouth-blown construction. A beautiful decorative object, perfect for a vintage interior or an elegant table setting. Features.
