Large expressionist oil painting by swedish auction painter gerhard lundberg. It was painted by the artist in 1972. The painting is hand signed in the lower right corner and handwritten, dated and described by the artist. Made in oil technique on panel. Framed. Gustaf gerhard adolf lundberg, born december 7, 1905 in dresden, died in 1980, was a swedish painter. He was the son of textile engineer nils jakob lundberg and margareta friedrich, and the brother of frans lundberg. After graduating from school in oslo, lundberg studied at his father's textile company in arna near bergen. He studied at the academy of fine arts in stockholm in 1929-1935 and with marcel gromaire and académie colarossi in paris in 1936-1938. He has participated in exhibitions with the helsingborg art association and has conducted individual exhibitions at the kristianstad museum and the vänersborg museum. His art consists of figurines, still lifes, landscapes and beach motifs. As an illustrator, he illustrated, inter alia, karol and anna l. Frank from 1930. Lundberg is represented at the gothenburg art museum, the kristianstad museum, the uddevalla museum and the tessin institute in paris.
