In the early 1960s, Dutch design favoured compact, functional, and legible forms. The "Buffalo" model is part of this quest for a warm modernism, where ergonomics guide the design. Buffalo armchair, Dutch production from the 1960s, designer unidentified. Structure in solid wood stained black, with seat and backrest upholstered in black leather. The design is characterised by its enveloping backrest extended into short armrests and its tapered legs, typical of Dutch furniture from the period. Careful craftsmanship, balanced proportions. In very good vintage condition. The wood has a uniform and stable finish. The leather has been recently refurbished, offering an impeccable appearance and comfortable seating. The structure is sound. Well-proportioned dimensions: width 58 cm, depth 48 cm, height 79 cm. A discreet and precise piece, ideal as a desk chair, as an accent in a modernist living room, or around a collection table.
