Runner Rug / Gallery Design Boteh 278x100 cm "Hamadan rug, Northwest Persia, circa 1950-1980. (cotton warp and weft, wool pile). Runner rug with repeating Boteh design across the entire field. It is said that the original Persian droplet design - the boteh or buta - was a representation of a floral spray combined with a cypress tree, a symbol of life and eternity. The seed-like shape is also thought to represent fertility and has links to Hinduism. Dimensions: 278x100 cm Condition: Good.
