Spectacular pair of English pots or vases with lids, made by Mason's, around 1820. With a hexagonal profile, this beautiful pair of vases features refined and exquisite floral decoration, inspired by Chinese cloisonné porcelain. Against an elegant lapis lazuli or cobalt blue background, various flowers with simple leaves and intense colours, such as pink, blue, and yellow, alternate with golden flowers. The lid of the vase bears a signature in a single line, indicating a production date between 1813 and 1820. Mason's is a famous English ceramics company founded by Miles Mason in the early 19th century, in 1806, in Staffordshire, England. It became renowned for its Ironstone China (1813), a durable and economical earthenware, popular for its intricate chinoiserie, heraldic, and floral patterns. This material, also known as semi-porcelain, combines the elegance of fine porcelain with great durability, making it ideal for everyday use. The famous potter Charles Mason is considered to be the creator of its production, having patented it in 1813.
