Beautiful original condition. Manufacturer's label present, dated 07/1965. Teak veneered plywood seat in very good condition. Finished with hardening oil. Three-legged base with chrome patina, see photos. Arne Jacobsen developed the Dot stool in collaboration with Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen in the early 1950s. Like the Ant chair of 1952, Dot reflects Jacobsen's vision of creating elegant and functional designs using modern industrial methods. It debuted in 1954 and was used in Rødovre Town Hall, a modernist building designed by Jacobsen and opened in 1956. Developed alongside the Ant chair, launched in 1954, Dot shares his innovative approach to lean production and minimal use of materials, resulting in a design that is both delicate and functional. The original chair had three legs, a fourth was added in the 1970s to improve stability without compromising the chair's minimalist appeal. Seat height 46cm.
