Antique Large Holophane Stiletto Prism Pendant Lamp 1920's

Beautiful antique large Holophane pendant lamp, model Stiletto Prism, from the 1920s. This glass lampshade comes complete with original brass fixture and long rod holder. This pendant lamp is made of high-quality borosilicate glass or prismatic glass. This type of glass has a clear vertical ribbed structure, also known as the Stiletto Prism. This clever French design is based on the principle of the Fresnel lens. It is designed to split the light optimally and create cosy, balanced lighting without glare. The underside of the glass shade has a stylishly wavy or scalloped edge (ruffled or scalloped edge), which is characteristic of the Art Deco and early industrial styles. At the top, the glass is attached with an original or patinated brass shade holder (gallery) fitted with the traditional set screws. This Holophane lamp has a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 23 cm. The height including the pendant is 121 cm, and can be shortened if desired. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition.
