Pair of "Akva" pocket emptiers (model 15735) by Per Lütken for Holmega.

These catchalls (historically listed as a bowl/ashtray) are part of the famous "Akva" (or Aqua) series, created by Per Lütken in the 1950s/1960s for the Danish manufacturer Holmegaard. It is a beautiful authentic piece of Scandinavian modernist design (Mid-Century Modern). Its lagoon blue colour, purity, and organic curves blown by mouth are typical of his most sought-after work. Engraved underneath very clearly is the inscription in fine print: * At the top, the name of the glassworks: HOLMEGAARD * In the centre, the artist's signature monogram: PL (for Per Lütken) * Below, the exact model number: 15735.
