8 "Les Arcs" chairs by Charlotte Perriand - Vintage hotel branding

A rare set of eight Les Arcs chairs, an iconic model associated with Charlotte Perriand and used in residences and interiors during the 1960s and 70s. These pieces feature a period patina, original leather that has never been replaced, and a metal frame entirely consistent with historical production. The set has been preserved in its original condition, without restoration, to maintain the integrity and authenticity of the leather. The wear consistent with age (refined leather, superficial oxidation) is even and consistent with the chairs' age. One of the backrest attachments has a tear left as is to respect the set's history. Provenance. On one of the seats, an old marking has reappeared: “Stumpt / Jaso’s / Czi No 17”, accompanied by a stenciled laurel wreath. This type of inscription corresponds to the inventory stamps of Alpine hotels from the 1960s and 70s, where the laurel wreath served as a simplified emblem. This marking testifies to the leather's first life in a period hotel, a rare detail highly sought after by purists. Condition. • Original leather on all 8 chairs. • Uniform patina, consistent signs of age. • Slight oxidation on the black metal frames. • One backrest with a tear at a fastening (not repaired) • Original foot caps present inside the tubes. • Set unrestored, not reassembled.
