Vintage mid-century scandinavian style armchair made in yugoslavia by j.m., from the 1960s. Yugoslavia was for a very long time the temple of furniture making of scandinavian designers like arne vodder, jacobsen or even georges nelson, see thonet among others. The structure of the armchair is made of beech with a warm and rich walnut tinted finish. The organic and sober design reveals beautiful compass-style legs with elegant, tapered armrests that curve upwards. The seat has its original straps and the backrest, its 5 original wooden bars (see photos.) the back of the seat is original, and it is in very good original condition and is 5 cm thick. The seat cushion has been replaced by a new hr 35 foam (high strength) 8 cm thick. The cushions have been professionally reupholstered, with a new ecru fabric, composed of 55% natural cotton and 45% linen. For easy maintenance. The piece is in very good original and vintage condition with slight traces and marks of previous use proportionate to time, as well as a patina of time on the structure, armrests, feet and small old marks on the left rear of the seat (see photos.) the part has a faded stamp that indicates its manufacturer and country of origin (see photo.) it is strong, stable and comfortable. Seat height 40.5 cm.
