Six-light chandelier in gilded bronze, Empire style, 19th century - Important basket chandelier with six arms, high-quality work from the 19th century in Empire style. Heavy construction in solid bronze, demonstrating great craftsmanship. The structure is made of chiselled and gilded bronze, organised around an architecturally designed central shaft. The main stem, treated as a fluted column, is topped with leaf motifs and rests on a base adorned with acanthus leaves and stylised patterns. The lighting is distributed by six volute arms with floral decoration, supporting fluted bowls and sockets. The whole is held by a substantial chain with ornate rectangular links, connected to a ceiling rose decorated with radiating foliage. Fitted with faux candles in antique white opaline (note: height of the opalines to be adjusted to the sockets). In good condition. Old electrification non-functional (presence of a short circuit), some arms work and the bulbs light up well. Other arms create a short circuit when a bulb is screwed in. Measurements: • Height of chandelier alone: 43 cm. • Total height (with chain): 163 cm. • Diameter: 64 cm.
