U-450 Sideboard by Jiří Jiroutek – Interiér Praha, 1960s

Designed by Jiří Jiroutek for Interiér Praha in the 1960s, this original U-450 sideboard is a beautiful example of Czech Mid-Century Modern design. Unlike the more familiar colourful versions, this rarer model is finished entirely in oak veneer, highlighting the elegance of the wood and the purity of its lines. A timeless and highly versatile piece that works equally well against a wall or as a room divider thanks to its beautifully veneered back. This particular piece remains in very good vintage condition, displaying only minor signs of age and use consistent with more than sixty years of careful ownership. The veneer retains a rich, warm patina, while the original white handles and sliding door mechanism remain fully functional. These gentle traces of time contribute to the authenticity and character of a sideboard that stands as an enduring icon of twentieth-century Czech design.
