XXL pineapple plate in earthenware

Glazed ceramic dish decorated with a pineapple, naturalistic style. France, circa 1970. Moulded and glazed ceramic, irregular oval shape, high relief decoration featuring a central pineapple surrounded by large leaves, polychrome palette of green, white, and salmon pink. Very sculptural modelling, with textured treatment of the fruit's skin and strongly marked veins of the foliage. The reverse is fully glazed white, featuring four terracotta feet. Decorative production not attributed, with no visible markings. Glaze shows slight variations, signs of use, and small firing defects. Height: 41 cm. Width: 32 cm. Condition of use consistent with age. A chip on the top of the dish (detailed in the photo).
