English picnic basket trunk made of wicker rattan

Charming and large picnic basket that is just waiting to find a new life, once refilled with dishes for its primary use or for another use (knitting in progress, storage for socks, magazines...). It is made of wicker, the inner straps and handle are plastic, the clasps are leather and metal, the inner trim is made of fabric (a kind of felt?) probably glued on cardboard. The handle is fixed on a thick cardboard inside. It dates from the 50s or 60s and is made in england, the label still present mentions it, as well as the mention "picnic outfits optima". I cleaned it thoroughly: dusting with a brush and vacuum cleaner, then cleaning with a brush soaked in vinegar, but no leaching with vinegar water on this object, so as not to risk damaging the interior trim, so there is necessarily still a little dust between the strands. It is in good general condition for its age: still very solid, the hinges at the back are functional, no significant stains on the green felt, the brown plastic parts are flexible. But he does not hide his age: broken or eliminated strands, some beetle holes, not active it seems to me, but that I treated by acquired consciousness by injection of crystal vinegar (this is my natural method to replace chemical insecticides), the leather of the clasps is damaged and dry, a little surface corrosion on the metal parts and some small various marks (stains, abrasion...). It measures 56 cm wide, 39 cm deep, 20 cm high and weighs between 2 and 3 kg.
