Superb portrait signed by the painter rené-marie castaing dated 1938 it is inscribed "to my friend rené blanchard". It is in a beautiful state of conservation, and will bring a lot of character in your interior. A beautiful piece signed. In a portrait, the artist goes far beyond resemblance, he penetrates the intimate character of the character. This is particularly noticeable in the multiple portraits of his wife and children, but it is also sensitive when the artist knows his model well. René-marie castaing (1896 - 1943) was a french painter and pupil of paul albert laurens, he exhibited at the salon des artistes français in 1913 and received a silver medal in 1925. In 1924, he won the first grand prix de rome for painting, which was awarded to him for his painting jesus at martha and mary.
