Framed oil on canvas signed Cochois and dated 1936. Portrait study of a Gordon Setter after the original work of 1926 by the English painter Arthur Wardle (1864-1949). This artist painted many animal subjects, he is famous for his paintings of dogs widely reproduced since the end of the 19th century. With its black and tan coat, the Gordon Setter is a pointing dog originating from the United Kingdom imported to France around 1840. Wooden frame whose corners are reinforced by old metal brackets. Plywood plate nailed to the back. Some small paint losses on the canvas. Dimensions 56x46 cm.
