Moroccan carpet in berber wool 148x242cm

We bring you beautiful moroccan carpets in berber wool. Hand-knotted by the berber woman from the high atlast mountains, the carpets are made from raw virgin wool, alternating patterns composted with a single knot and one or two woven lines. The carpets are made on traditional wooden looms and last about 10 to 35 days. Berber carpets are distinguished by their abstract reflections and the techniques are transmitted from mother to daiughter from the different tribes present in these mountain regions. The writing found on the carpet tells a story, although it is no longer directly related to the woman who created it, they still share traditional writings and stories about rural life, femininity, spirituality, motherhood, marriage and careers.
