Hans Wegner armchair in oak & wool for Getama, Mid Century Modern Danish Design 1950’s

A charming high-back armchair designed by hans wegner in solid oak for getama in the 1950’s. An iconic design by one of the pre-eminent designers of danish furniture hans wegner the ge 290 also known as the plank chair is a handsome elegant design from the 1950’s. Crafted in solid oak wood this chair has a beautiful rich patina complemented nicely by the grey wool upholstery from svensson. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and sanded to remove the old dirty finish and marks. And a wax oil and polish applied to bring out the rich colour and patina of the wood. The original sprung cushions have been kept and reupholstered in a light grey wool fabric from svensson. Please also see the matching three seater sofa we are selling.
