Sculptural lamp base in ceramic West Germany – 1960s-70s

Superb and large vintage ceramic lamp base from West Germany (stamped "W. GERMANY" under the base). This lamp base is an iconic piece of the Mid-Century Modern movement and the Fat Lava style from the 1960s–1970s. Attributed to designer Cari Zalloni (Carlo Zalloni) for the renowned Steuler manufacture, this model features architectural and brutalist design characterised by its layered geometric shapes. Its satin glazing offers beautiful shades of brown, amber, and mocha.
