This pitcher stamped boch brothers la louvière dates from the 1920s. This 100-year-old object deserves a look at its history... In 1851 boch frères acquired the manufacture of the quai des salines in tournai, belgium. She produced the set at "la mouche" under the name "great bouquet" from 1855. It was charles mouzin (mettlach 1832 - la louvière 1910) son of henri mouzin who fell it. It is the technique of transfer printing that will be used at boch on fine earthenware. Printing will be under cover. Engraving on copper boards is the starting point of this printing process. Each object required an engraved plank of its own, which is why small differences appear in the décor that must adapt to the diameter and size of the object. At the back, we see the stamp called "laurel" / grand bouquet that allows to date our pitcher to 1920. The oriental-inspired décor is very pretty and its monochrome blue is typical of the productions of the time. This piece is much rarer than plates with the same pattern. This pitcher will satisfy lovers of old dishes that has a real soul. It is in very good condition for its age with just a slight wear mark on the tip of the beak.
