Alphonse cytère (1861-1941), soliflore vase with flared neck in flamed sandstone from rambervillers. Beautiful collector's item with its iconic flamed sandstone in intense shade of metallic and iridescent blues and greens. Work from the 1920s/1930s. Signed in hollow on the reverse: cytère, united france. In 1891, the engineer alphonse cytère took over the management of the s.a.p.c.r whose main activity is the manufacture of glazed flow pipes. In 1903, he created an art studio within the establishment, he then developed a new technique for transforming an enamel with metallic reflections that earned their notoriety to the flamed sandstones of rambervillers. He also called on many artists from the nancy school and published their pieces (bases, decorative objects, architectural elements) in order to diversify his production.
