Antique stoneware water butter dish

Old water butter dish (also called breton butter dish) which used to be used to store butter. The advantage over the refrigerator is that the butter remains spreadable! The container is filled with water (preferably salted) and the lid with butter. The butter does not go rancid and can be kept for several weeks (change the water once a week). This authentic water butter dish is in excellent condition and has all the charm of a handcrafted product.
