Magnificent orangeade set produced by the Grandjean-Jourdan workshop (a major player in Vallauris ceramics in the mid-20th century) in the 1950s/60s, in a beautiful deep green, comprising a large pitcher and seven glasses. Pitcher height: 24 cm. Glasses height: 12 cm. Slight chips on two of the glasses and the base of the pitcher are visible in the photos. The Grandjean-Jourdan workshops were very active during the golden age of Vallauris pottery, roughly from the 1950s to the 1980s. They are particularly renowned for their Provençal and rustic-chic style tableware, often with shapes inspired by natural elements. The twisted rope handle and scalloped patterns are a very recognizable signature of the Grandjean-Jourdan workshop. This set is part of a very popular line of their production. Emerald green or fir green was a key color used for these objects. This service is a beautiful collector's item, representative of the craftsmanship of Southern France in the mid-20th century.
