Magnificent small ceramic salad bowl with a milky grey glaze revealing chocolate colour in places and a beautiful decoration featuring a bird and plants. All these elements are typical of the work of Gustave and Micheline Reynaud, in their workshop Le Mûrier, which they founded in 1955 in Vallauris, where they were initially assisted by Jean Derval, Gustave's brother-in-law. The origin is confirmed by the signature in the shape of a mulberry leaf underneath. After Gustave's death in 1972, Micheline continued the production of utilitarian items until the workshop closed in 1982. Here, the signature is a handmade mulberry leaf, not stamped, so it is reasonable to think that this salad bowl dates from before 1972, the year when a stamped signature and a mention of Vallauris appeared. It is a very beautiful piece of artisanal work in turning, glazing, and decoration. This salad bowl is in very good condition, with no cracks, just two small chips on the edge of the base, which are therefore not very visible. It measures 16 cm in diameter at the top and 9 cm in height.
